The table base and deck substrate consist of 1.5" maple/apple multiply plywood with a clear polyurethane finish. During the day, the end grain of the fluorescent green polycarbonate glows due to the fiber optic effect of the material combined with the daylight. At night, the laminate on the deck can be charged with light, used to make photograms, or wiped clean from dinner activities.
